135mm F2.8 SONNAR T* (55) MANUAL FOCUS TELEPHOTO LENS

Another very high quality, highly rated Zeiss lens in CY mount at affordable price. This lens produce image quality comparable, if not better than its leica counterpart and the short telephoto makes it really excellent for shooting portrait, especially full body portraits, due to the less distortion evident in 50mm lenses. Images are very good wide open and users can easily go with F2.8 for every shot without worrying about sharpness and resolution. Contrast is good, the bokeh is beautiful, its one of the reasons why this lens is well liked. Similarly to all the other lenses mentioned here, the T* really lives up to its name, attributing to some really beautiful vibrant colours and high contrast in images taken, both on film or digital, both for stills or video.

The 135mm on a 1.6 crop body gives 216mm, this makes it really excellent tele lens for one to have in the bag, from shooting sports to events to concerts etc.. of cos a 70-200F2.8 is always desirable but the weight and price is a different story.

Build wise, you can expect nothing less than the typical, extremely solid zeiss build. The lens also has a built in hood, which personally i find it very useful, all my L lenses with separate hoods, i am always too lazy or forgetful to bring them out for shoots, though deep down i know i should. The hood for this 135mm really helps in keeping flares to a minimum.
