17-35mm F2.8D NIKON AFS ED IF (77) AUTO FOCUS WIDE ANGLE ZOOM LENS (GD)

Highly sought after Fullframe nikon Ultra Wide angle lens. Before the 14-24F2.8 and nikon's fullframe came out, there were people using this lens through adaptor onto canon's 1Ds. Compared to the new nikon 14-24F2.8, its still has several advantages that allows it to hold its ground. 1. It allows mounting of 77mm filters, unlike the 14-24 with the front protruding lens element which doesnt allow for mounting of any filters.

Those doing landscape photography will know that usage of filters is almost everything in landscape shooting. no matter how good a lens is, without being to mount filters, such as ND, CPL, GDN, and other gradual filters, it is already crippled. 2. It still has the aperture ring, which allows for alot of other possibilities, including using on adaptor on other brands of DSLR such as canon or olympus 4/3 or even the newer micro 4/3 format.

It can also be used through adaptors for video purposes. This lens was using on one of the more popular 5D mark2 videos " one night in beijing" by dan chung. 3. Size wise it is more compact and less distortion than the 14-24 for sure. 4. Price of cos.. Apart from that this lens is pretty much the peak of nikon wide angle.

You can easily ask those who owned it, or check out old reviews, at each focal length, its even better than a similar F2.8 prime, getting this gives better performance than buying 18mm F2.8, 20F2.8, 24F.8, 28F2.8, 35F2 combined. Sharpness, contrast, even at F2.8 is all unrivalled in its time before nikon came out with the 14-24.

Lens in overall good condition. Some marks on exterior but nothing stamping from abuse, some peeling of paint from the gold words area mainly. Optically 10/10. This lens is pretty hard to find these days and brand new is easily about 3K now. Selling this beautiful legendary nikkor at only $1800. Comes with original Caps and hood.
