17-50mm F2.8 TAMRON NON BIM Di-II LD for NIKON (67) AUTO FOCUS STANDARD ZOOM LENS (LN)

Please note this is the Non Built in Motor version, thus no AF with bodies like D40/D40X/D60/D3000/D5000.

Probably the number one kit lens replacement in the market. One of the most popular lens around, it offers comparable image quality and sharpness at wide open up agains the nikon 17-55F2.8 AFS which cost 4 times of this. Only disadvantages are the slower focusing speed and weaker focus confirmation in very dim condition compared to the nikon AFS 17-55F2.8. Apart from that this lens is a very neat package to get a good F2.8 constant daily use lens without breaking the bank.

Note that this is the older, non built in motor version. While it wont AF with entry bodies like D40, D60 etc.. on bodies that dont require the motor, such as D90 and D300, it focus far better and faster. I do know of people who still prefer this version.
