18-200mm F3.5-6.3 SIGMA DC OS for NIKON (72) AUTO FOCUS MULTIPURPOSE ZOOM LENS

Amazing news really.. when sigma came out with this 18-200 OS, because finally they have came out with a decent competition for the widely popular AFS 18-200vr from nikon. This updated version now has sigma's own OS (optical stabiliser) and also had built in motor (which means that entry level dslrs like D40/D60/D3000/D5000 all can af with it). This means you can this one-lens-do-all piece of glass without breaking the bank. 

Frankly speaking, if you are just an occassional photographer, or just starting out and have yet to actually decide on a specialised photography genre such as macros, birding, event, portraiture, etc.. then this lens is definitely suitable for you, not only because you will not have to endure the agony of watching what could be the perfect shot go by just because you cant change lens in time, or did not bring out the right lens, but also because it give you the chance to try of different focal lengths before deciding which suits you so you can consider getting a prime in that focal length.

Even if you are a seasoned photographer, then you probably should understand the more the convenience this lens can offer. Despite the large 11X zoom this lens offers, image quality is still very decent at all focal lengths, true that there may some compromise in terms of distortion at both ends, but hey.. what cant be fixed in photoshop.
