Note that this is the non D version, Optically similar to the D version, the D update basically only for getting the distance, which widely mentioned on the internet does not make any significant difference in usage.
This is a nice sharp lens, even at wide open, at 210mm. Frankly i am usually not a fan of lower range AF nikon lenses due to optically quality, but this is one of the non prime, non gold ring lens that caught my attention. I had good shots using in on the D700, zoomed in on screen, the sharpness does look sharp, contrast pretty decent as well. Note also this lens is a pull puch design, which i feel is more familiar to use on zoom lenses, as it is rather difficult to turn 2 rings at the same time. Built wise this lens doesnt disappoint as well, size wise its compact, but still feels solid enough to give you the confidence that it packs a punch. Only disadvantage if i have to list, is of cos the slower F5.6 aperture at 210mm, which if you need to use in low light, i strongly suggest you get the 70-200VR2 at about $3200.. I bought it.

Lens in totally MINT condition, can pass off as new. Got it from a Japanese collector actually, thus i bet it hadnt taken many shots either.
