70-300mm F4-5.6 CANON EF IS USM (58) AUTO FOCUS HIGHPOWER ZOOM LENS

Looking for an excellent telephoto zoom lens that is light on the wallet, without the attention of the white L lenses, and does not add much to the load on your back? This is definitely the perfect answer. No other 3rd party brand come close in terms of image quality, there are no alternatives. After using it on the field, the main comments and feedbacks gathered from fellow photographers is that with the UD element that canon puts into this lens, the gives rather excellent sharpness, but contrast wise it does lose out somewhat to the L lens, mainly the 70-200F4L it is usually compared to. But hey... increasing contrast in photoshop just cant get any easier right?

Canon actually has another 70-300 DO IS, with similar zoom range and aperture size, but due to the DO optics and the green ring, canon priced it at more than 2 times of the one above. I'm not much a fan of DO lens, tested several copies and all give rather bad image very poor in sharpness. With the IS on this 70-300 and proper hand holding techniques, it is actually possible to obtain shutter speeds of 1/50 without handshake blur, as such this lens is excellent for travelling with. Heck this lens is even a USM one, definitely good value for its price.
